h2o2

Peroxide 3% (H2O2)

Peroxide is a water molecule plus an extra oxygen atom. When added to soil h2o2 will break down into a water molecule and an oxygen atom. Having oxygen in the root system will help with the absorption of nutrients, it also prevents other root problems.

  • Only a small amount of H2O2 is necessary (about 1% per volume of water)
  • Don’t add too much, it will harm your plants.
  • It’s available at most pharmacies
  • Only use 3% food grade peroxide, don’t use anything stronger

Peroxide is also used by hydroponic growers to help control fungi, molds, and other infectious agents, it’s even mentioned in an Ed Rosenthal book, (The Best of ASK ED, Your Marijuana Questions Answered).
